  1. Old-Fashioned Baked Custard

  3. 6 eggs
  4. 1/2 cup sugar
  5. 1/2 tsp. salt
  6. 4 cups milk
  7. 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  8. 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  9.  
  10. In a large bowl, beat eggs slightly, add sugar and salt;
  11. mix well. Add in milk and stir well. Flavor with vanilla
  12. and nutmeg, mix thoroughly. Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish
  13. and pour in custard mixture. Place in a shallow pan
  14. containing warm water; bake at 325 degrees for 75 minutes
  15. or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean.
